comment: after the failure of y kant tori read, atlantic decided to give tori one more chance.  so she ditched the band and her rock-chick image and reverted to her true-self.  she sat down at her piano, invited the faeries in and started writing about her life and things that mattered to her.  but the resultant songs didn't impress the bigwigs at atlantic, and at a loss as what to do with her next, they decided to send her off to the uk with the idea that tori was too eccentric for america and that she would be more appreciated across the pond.  the move paid off and the british public welcomed her with open arms and the album went to be a success and even produced three top 40 hits.  the us soon caught on and more success followed, tori had made it.

quote: "i just decided to try and take the piano to a place, for me, in the best way i could. and that's how the songs started to come for little earthquakes."
